Phil and Josh return for a post-Easter episode of the GSP to discuss Kyle Busch getting his 60th Cup Series win after Tyler Reddick and Chase Briscoe got into argy bargy on the last lap during the Bristol Dirt Race. The guys talk about the race itself, the viability of Cup/NASCAR touring series on dirt (especially on non-dirt tracks) along with who stood out and who struggled. Ben Rhodes was the dominant Truck on Saturday at Bristol but needed to overcome a pit decision miscue and Carson Hocevar to win and put himself firmly in position to repeat as champion.
A busy GSP Roundup covers MotoGP/Moto2 at Algarve, F2/F3 at Imola, WSBK at Assen, WRC Rally Croatia, MotoAmerica at Road Atlanta and BTCC at Donington Park. Phil and Josh preview the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola with the big questions pertaining to the top three teams: Can Ferrari maintain their top pace and win on home soil? Phil and Josh return for E109 of the GSP to discuss Charles Leclerc's second win of 2022 along with Josef Newgarden in IndyCar and William Byron in Cup. The guys go over the Australian GP which saw the defending World Champion fall out while running second and other key story lines including Lewis Hamilton's overheating issues. At Long Beach, Newgarden gave Penske their third straight victory to start the 2022 campaign while Colton Herta crashed out of a possible victory. Alex Palou is not going away either after a podium finish in the second most important race on the calendar.
On the NASCAR side at Martinsville, Byron won two of three races on the weekend and became the first repeat winner of the 2022 Cup Series season in a race that saw zero on track passes for the lead. Phil and Josh go over what could be done to improve the product since Martinsville will have an important place in how the final four is set. While Bruckshot Jones won the XFinity race, Keebler Gibbs sucker punching Sam Mayer while keeping his helmet on is the main story from the race itself. Byron won the Truck race for Spire while KBM continues their dominance.

What will the Ferrari vs. Red Bull battle look like with Leclerc vs. Verstappen Part Three?
IndyCar returns to one of the majors with the Grand Prix of Long Beach this weekend. Can Alexander Rossi right the ship this weekend at one of his best tracks? How will Scotty McLaughlin do after such a strong start to the 2022 season? Phil and Josh return for E107 of the GSP to discuss Ross Chastain's first Cup Series win at CoTA after some last lap argy bargy between himself, AJ Allmendinger and Alex Bowman. The guys cover all three NASCAR events in Austin and discuss key story lines along with Verstappen's first win of 2022 in Jeddah over Charles Leclerc. Issues with the track, the government and more come up along with those who stood out in Saudi.
The GSP Roundup discusses F1 going to the Las Vegas Strip in November 2023, Supercars at Symmons Plains, F2 at Jeddah and MotoGP/Moto2 preview for the GP of Argentina. Since XFinity had taken place before recording, the NASCAR preview strictly focused on the Cup Series first short track event of 2022 at Richmond.
Josh provides his info on the Sim Segment where both of us get fooled by Open-Wheels.com in regards to eligibility for the Open-Wheels 500 before show close.

Phil and Josh come back for Episode 106 of the GSP to discuss the Formula 1 opener at Bahrain which saw Charles Leclerc and Ferrari take the opening pole and race of the season. The guys cover the 1-2 finish for the Scuderia while Red Bull saw both of their drivers fall out late with power unit issues along with fellow RBPT car of Pierre Gasly. Mercedes was on the back foot all weekend but salvaged a podium for Lewis Hamilton and a fourth for George Russell. Their customer teams are definitely in trouble but Ferrari customers like Haas are in a great place. Kevin Magnussen's return to F1 couldn't have went much better with a fifth.
On the flip side of racing, Atlanta Motor Speedway saw WWE-style pack racing for all three major NASCAR national series. William Byron gave Hendrick Motorsports a third winner among their four-car team to start the season while plenty of drivers left angry with wrecked race cars and BadYear tire failures. Ross Chastain continues his early season rise with the upstart Trackhouse Racing and proving how the Gen 7 car has helped smaller teams. Keebler Gibbs won in XFinity and Corey Heim took his first Truck Series win during the Saturday proceedings.
Josef Newgarden made it a Penske 2-2 to start the 2022 IndyCar season after a last lap, last turn pass on teammate Scott McLaughlin but the story was the Grip Strip and how it affected the cars and tires. Multiple wrecks were caused by the residue of the Grip Strip but Kyle Kirkwood showed why he's a future star in the IndyCar Series. On the flip side, we saw why Devlin DeFrancesco is the EggHead of IndyCar. Issues for McLaren also exist stateside and Alexander Rossi is left to wonder what has happened with his career after a brutal race day.

Phil and Josh come back for Episode 105 of the GSP to discuss Chase Briscoe's first Cup Series win at Phoenix which sent Phil into absolute bedlam and plenty of beverages which got Beyond The Flag's Joe Passero in the Tweet storm that came from Phil's personal account and GSP too.
The crew goes over Briscoe becoming the 200th driver to win a Cup race while Ryan Blaney led the most laps but didn't close once again along with Ross Chastain's continued upswing early in the season for Trackhouse Racing. Less time is spent on Gragson's win in the XFinity race.
The guys discuss the new Atlanta Motor Speedway and make picks for all three series along with key story-lines to focus on for a track that hasn't been paved or reconfigured since 1997. Phil and Josh cover the beginning of the F1 season at Bahrain with picks along with IndyCars at the dump that is Texas Motor Speedway.
The Roundup covers the 12 Hours of Sebring for IMSA/1000 KM for WEC along with the Hendrick Motorsports Gen 7 announcement of their Garage 56 opportunity at Le Mans in 2023. MotoGP/Moto2 at Indonesia along with NHRA at Gainesville where Tony Stewart Racing got their first win with Matt Hagan for a double.

Phil and Josh come back for another episode of the GSP with freelance writer and motorsports encyclopedia Josh Bolden aka Googs to talk grassroots racing and NASCAR. The crew discusses Alex Bowman's victory at Las Vegas and the ensuing butt hurt that took place from Kyle Busch. Ross Chastain led the most laps and showed Trackhouse is ready to play with the Gen 7 car but Gibbs and Hendrick dominated the program per recent year trends.
In XFinity, Keebler Gibbs gets his first win of 2022 while using Ryan Sieg up in the process. JRM and Kaulig had good cars but nothing to show for them. Trucks saw Chandler Smith continue his recent upswing with his third victory in the last seven races while Daytona winner Zane Smith finished second but got DQ'ed for lugnuts. Defending champion Ben Rhodes won both stages in an unsponsored truck but got hooked by teammate Ty Majeski during the third stage.
The Roundup goes over Kevin Magnussen's return to F1 at Haas along with the start of Drive to Survive on Netflix. MotoGP/Moto2 starts their season at Qatar plus Supercars at Sydney Motorsports Park to open their 2022 campaign, F2/F3 testing at Bahrain in preparation for their first race and SRX Driver announcements. Phil and Josh continue the odyssey for E103 of the GSP discussing Scotty McLaughlin's first IndyCar win at St. Pete, Larson winning at ACS, F1 testing and more. The guys go over all the keys that let to McLaughlin's win along with who stood out and struggled during the weekend.
For Cup, the racing was good and showed the Gen7 car is a game changer in many ways...however, it hasn't slowed down the defending series champion. Cole Custer helped SS Green Light Racing get their first ever XFinity win the day before. F1 Testing took place at Barcelona with takeaways on the teams bringing the heat and who has work to do before the next test at Bahrain.

Phil and Josh return for E102 of the GSP to discuss Austin Cindric's Daytona 500 victory in his eighth career Cup start. The guys cover all the key drivers that featured in the Great American Race along with close calls for Phil's drivers. Big names were left to wait another year for that elusive Harley J. Earl Trophy while the debut of the Gen7/NextGen Car had its ups and downs.
The IndyCar Series starts their 2022 campaign in St. Pete with Colton Herta and Andretti Autosport in the news with the impending entrance into Formula 1 (if approved). Is it Colton's time to win an IndyCar title or will other drivers snatch that opportunity away.
How will Alex Palou approach his title defense along with Scott Dixon having to compete with a strong teammate in search of his seventh title? Phil and Josh do a weekend edition of the GSP to discuss all the Formula 1 car reveals prior to the first preseason test at Barcelona. Which cars look the best, what is intriguing about the new changes and what do the guys expect leading up to that session.
Motorsports GOAT Mario Andretti announced that son Michael will be launching a bid to join Formula 1 in 2024 with his own Andretti Global team. Phil and Josh cover many details regarding this announcement and what it means in regards to F1 in the US.
One aspect that has more fans interested is Drive to Survive and the crew goes over their experiences with the show and what it has done to dramatize certain events and what that may mean in regards to how last season went especially with certain people being absent.

Phil and Josh return for Episode 98 of the GSP to recap the exciting Rolex 24 at Daytona which saw the Meyer-Shank Racing 60 Acura win overall. The guys cover all the classes and key battles which led to the eventual results before previewing the Clash at the Coliseum for the NASCAR Cup Series. Will the race be a demo derby or actually be the start of something different in the debut of the Gen 7 race car?
Phil and Josh recap the NFL Conference Championship weekend while providing a short preview of the Super Bowl game. After this, they get into the issues with NFL hiring practices regarding minority candidates after Brian Flores sued the league. Phil and Josh also give their thoughts on Tom Brady officially retiring after his illustrious career.

Phil and Josh come back for E96 of the GSP to discuss the Roar Before the 24 at Daytona, which will set the qualifying order for the Rolex 24 along with coverage of the Michelin Pilot Challenge and LMP3 action going on this weekend at the World's Center of Speed. The guys also cover the Chili Bowl and Tanner Thorson taking down three-time Golden Driller winner Christopher Bell in the A-Main. Many great stories and drivers made the A, even if MAVTV didn't bother to show them.

Phil and Josh welcome two returning guests to the GSP for the 2021 Cup Series Round-table. Frontstretch.com writer and former host of Talking in Circles Clayton Caldwell along with PitBoxPress.com writer and social media influencer Phil Spain come back to discuss a number of topics relating to last year's NASCAR Cup season.
The guys cover Kyle Larson's domination and redemption arc that covered the 2021 season along with the dynamics within Hendrick Motorsports between himself and 2020 champion Chase Elliott. Hendrick and Gibbs dominated the season last year and the driver makeup of each team stands out for different reasons from last year and for the future.
Ford disappearing from existence for most of the season after coming so close to a title in 2020 was a huge shock but there's plenty of changes coming within the camp going into 2022. Can the Blue Oval Gang recover and come back with a new car on the line?
The crew discusses Denny Hamlin's greater significance in the sport: as a driver or as a car owner bringing Michael Jordan and many new sponsors to the forefront? First time winners both in the driver and team category took place in 2021...what did each mean then and now after a while to reflect? Phil and Josh return to start season three of the Grip Strip Podcast while covering the 2021 IndyCar season. The guys discuss Alex Palou coming to Chip Ganassi Racing and winning his first title in only his second season. The balance between youth and experience was shown throughout the season with Palou, Pato O'Ward, and Colton Herta standing out while veterans Scott Dixon and Josef Newgarden made their presence felt.
Outside of the season-long title fight, the biggest story of the year came from Helio Castro-Neves when he beat Palou to win his fourth Indy 500 in May. Phil and Josh go into what that race meant and the memories from after the events themselves. The guys go over the silly season and who moves in and out of the series while focusing on what James Hinchcliffe's addition to the TV booth will mean for NBC.

Phil and Josh return for a pre-Christmas and pre-holiday break edition of the GSP to discuss the recently completed 2021 Formula 1 World Championship season. Plenty of focus and time on the battle between eventual World Champion Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton along with the background players and how the sanctioning body inserted themselves into this season-long fight.
The guys also cover the Ferrari vs. McLaren tussle for 3rd in the Constructor's Championship and the driver pairings for both outfits as they move into 2022. Standout drivers like Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, and George Russell get their time while Phil and Josh also look at the driver movement and what the 2022 regulations might bring regarding both championships.

Phil and Josh return for E91 of the Grip Strip Podcast to discuss the controversial Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the finish, and the crowning of a new World Drivers Champion for the first time since 2016. The guys cover the race, the key players behind LH and MV, and the nonsense that led to the eventual result. While the finish was questionable, certain segments of the fanbase along with Liberty Media appreciated the season-long battle in regards to Drive to Survive. Conversations regarding the points, constructors, and post-season tests take place.
The NASCAR/IndyCar roundup covers all three major touring NASCAR series including NextGen testing along with recent news items in the IndyCar series. The GSP Roundup covers Formula 2, Extreme E and Sports Car news. For the NFL/Fantast Football segment, Josh loses it on Urban Meyer for his general incompetence and inability to coach a professional team. For Phil, his 49ers are still in the playoff race while both guys have their fantasy teams in play. Josh covers Sim Racing in his segment before show close.
